Loved Ones of Men with Pornography Problems

  • How do I know if I or a loved one needs treatment?
  • Is internet pornography a form of cheating?
  • Is there any hope in overcoming this problem?
  • How long will it take?
  • How do I talk to my spouse or loved one about this issue?
  • How do I confront someone I suspect has a pornography problem?
  • How can I best support my loved one in overcoming this problem?
  • If I am engaged to someone who is viewing pornography, should I still marry him?

This group is intended for people who have a partner or family member who struggles with unwanted sexual habits, typically pornography. Either the partner, family member, or the person attending the group must be a BYU student. Ideally, the partner or loved one should be, or already has been, in treatment for the issue.

The group will provide a confidential place to talk about issues that are involved in sexual habits and relationships. It is intended to be a place of learning, openness, encouragement and personal support. Through the group, you will learn how to give support to your loved one.

We ask that those attending the group follow a strict code of confidentiality. Do not disclose the identity of anyone else participating in the group. While you may share principles and your own experience of the group, do not disclose information that would jeopardize the confidentiality of group members.
