Career and Learning Information Center (CLIC)

The Career and Learning Information Center provides students with numerous resources to research careers and majors of interest.  They also offer workshops to improve academic success, including time management, stress reduction, textbook reading, improving memory, test preparation, test taking, and note taking. In addition, the CLIC has study skills handouts, sample resumes, interest tests, and a library of career materials.

Tutoring services is a volunteer student program which gives students one-on-one help to improve their basic study skills and time management. This program is offered through the Center for Service and Learning and provides free peer tutoring. To sign-up, fill out a request form online at tutoring.byu.edu

 

Reading and Writing Center

The Reading and Writing Center provides tutors who help students one-on-one with their writing projects in all academic fields of study and at all stages of the writing process. These consultations are offered to students at no charge. In addition, mini-classes are offered in reading comprehension, speed reading, study skills, basic logic, and computer literacy. During fall and winter semesters there are also satellite centers in the Cannon Center at Helaman Halls and the Morris Center at Deseret Towers.

 

Math Lab

The Math Lab tutors assist students with homework, concepts, and basic math skills. There is no charge for this service. Private tutors are available upon request, and cost of this service is negotiated directly with the tutor.

 

Computer Labs

Computer labs are located in several different areas on campus.

Commonly used labs are found on the south side of the HBLL on the main floor and on the bottom floor of the WSC.  These labs have computers and printers. A listing of all computer lab locations can be found at http://it.byu.edu/content/prods/complabs/labMap.cfm

 

College Advisement Centers

College Advisement Centers have been established in every academic college to offer personalized services to students. College advisement centers provide information on applying to majors of interest, completing coursework for specific majors, and career goals.
