 Relationship Violence

Relationship violence is an equal opportunity problem. Anybody can have it.  It affects both genders, and people of all socioeconomic classes, races, and religions. Somebody you know has probably experienced it.  Relationship Violence is a pattern of behavior in which one partner uses fear and intimidation to establish power and control over the other partner, often including the threat or use of violence. This abuse happens when one person believes they are entitled to control another. Relationship violence can and does occur in any type of intimate relationship – dating, marriage, family, or roommate situations.  Learn about the different forms of relationship violence and what you can do to get help for yourself or someone you love by following the links on the left side of the page.
