In addition to attending our events, Women's Services provides a number of opportunities for you to get involved with women's issues and make a difference!
Girls Empowered: Body Image Mentoring Program for Middle School Girls--Women's Services accepts student mentors who are passionate about body image to mentor girls at a local Provo middle school one hour per week. Following our program, mentors will teach girls media literacy and help them in their journeys to accept themselves in the barrage of media that tells them otherwise. New mentors are accepted each Fall and Winter semester. To become a mentor, come to our office in 3326 WSC for a short application and interview process. All mentors will be required to attend a one hour training twice during the semester. Additionally, a carpool is organized each semester to accomodate all mentors.
Fed Up With Food: Mentoring Support Group for Women with Eating Disorders-- Fed Up With Food accepts women who have overcome an eating disorder to mentor those who are currently struggling. If you'd like to be a mentor, call us for a short intake appointment to see if the group is right for you. Read more about Fed Up With Food here.
Volunteer E-mail list--If you're interested in helping us spread the word about specific campaigns, causes, and events here at WSR as well as one-time volunteer opportunities, email us at wsr@byu.edu with your name and you'll be on the list!
