Girls Empowered

Girls Empowered Info

Girls Empowered is a volunteer program focused on promoting self-esteem in young girls. Selected BYU students will have the opportunity to serve as mentors for girls at Centennial Middle School. Over the course of eight weeks, each college mentor will provide her mentees with support, guidance, friendship, and a positive example during one-on-one and group activities. By participating in this program, mentees boost their self-esteem as they realize their potential and learn skills to help them reach their goals. Mentors also improve their self-esteem by practicing leadership skills and positively influencing the girls they serve.

If you would like to volunteer for Girls Empowered, stop by 3326 WSC, email wsr-coordinator@byu.edu, or call 801-422-4877. To participate in this program, you will need to commit to 1.5 to 2 hours per week for the semester. Volunteers must be available every Monday from 2:50-4:15PM.
