What is the Women's Services & Resources office?
The Women's Services & Resources office at Brigham Young University (WSR) is an information and referral network for students, staff, and faculty. We address women's issues in a proactive, preventative way and provide events, support groups, nutrition consultations, one-on-one consultations, workshops, and more to empower every woman to achieve her fullest potential. WSR connects and collaborates with other departments and offices on campus, as well as the community, to provide both women and men with appropriate information and resources for a variety of women's issues.

Is there a Men's Services & Resources office?
While there is not a Men's Services office at BYU, our policy at WSR is to help whomever comes into our office. Men can benefit from the services, events, referrals, and resources our office provides. We can also provide men with resources and referrals for the women in their lives.

Where is the WSR Office located?
We are located in the Wilkinson Student Center on the third floor. Our office number is 3326 and we are in the northeast corner of the building, up the stairs from Jamba Juice and next to the Pre-Professional Office.

How do I get involved with WSR?
There are a variety of ways to get involved with WSR. Come to our office and meet the staff, and follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay current with what we're up to. You can also attend any of our events and participate there! If you are interested in getting more involved, stop by our office and ask us about becoming a campaign ambassador. This position includes coordinating volunteer efforts, executing events, and advertising.

How can I get a job at WSR?
Most WSR jobs are listed through BYU's Student Employment website. Check that site regularly if you are interested in working with us!

How can I give feedback to WSR?

Events and Campaigns

What is Voices of Courage?
Voices of Courage is a campaign engaging men and women as allies in creating a culture of respect and non-violence. The weeklong campaign occurs during Fall semester each year.

What is Be You?
Be You is a campaign designed to reshape the ideas and attitudes about self-worth from those promoted in today’s popular culture. The aim is to provide knowledge and experiences that will help women and men sustain a life of optimal health and happiness, find purpose and achieve their highest potential, and love the person that they are. Services and Resources

Are WSR services only available to BYU students?
Our events, services, and resources are available to BYU students, spouses of students, and faculty and staff. Many of our events are also open to the public.

Do you offer services and resources for men as well?
We do not offer services and resources specifically catered to men, but men are invited to benefit from everything our office provides. Men are also welcome to visit our office for resources and referrals for the women in their lives.

Does WSR offer resources for parents?
We do not offer specific services for parents, but parents are invited to utilize everything our office provides. Many mothers and fathers can benefit from the services, referrals, events, and resources our office provides. Parents can also come by our office for resources and referrals both on campus and in the community.

Can I get counseling at WSR?
WSR does not provide counseling. If you are looking for professional and/or long-term counseling, we encourage you to visit BYU CAPS (Counseling and Psychological Services) on the first floor of the Wilkinson Center. There you can set up appointments with professional counselors or utilize their walk-in hours (10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.). If you have questions or would like to learn more about counseling options, we encourage you to come to our office for a one-on-one consultation where we can talk about your needs and give you information about other resources.

Does WSR provide childcare?
WSR does not provide childcare. While there are no specific childcare options offered by BYU, BYU does have preschool and kindergarten programs available. Can I get financial aid through WSR?
WSR offers a Single Parent Scholarship. You can find more information about it by clicking here.

Are there informational resources at WSR that I can get without having a one-on-one consultation?
Absolutely! Click here for downloadable information sheets—these cover a wide variety of issues and include helpful information and resources. Free hard copies of these information sheets are available in our office.

Support Groups

How can I participate in New CHAPTER?
The New CHAPTER (change, hope, and peace through eating [disorder] recovery) Group begins at the start of both Fall and Winter semesters, but are closed after the first week due to confidentiality. If you are interested, call or visit our office to schedule an intake appointment so group leaders can help you see if New CHAPTER is the right fit, and then give you further instructions.

Are there any other support groups at WSR?
We do not currently run any other support group. However, please let us know if there is a group you are interested in—if enough people express those needs to our office, we will likely start another group. BYU Counseling and Psychological Services also offers several support groups on various topics. Click here for more information on their offerings.

How do I make an appointment at WSR for a one-on-one consultation or a nutrition consultation?
Come into our office 3326 WSC or call (801) 422-4877 to set up an appointment. Nutrition consultations are scheduled by appointment—click HERE to sign up for one.
